Louboutin Love.

I have yearned for the Rouge Louboutin nail lacquer since the very first whispers of Christian Louboutin’s entrance into the luxury beauty market in 2012. Well, the day has come and I cannot wait to share it with you!! Having been a nail polish connoisseur since the age of 8, I feel it is my cosmetic duty to write a review for this extraordinary product created by an eccentric Frenchman. Prepare to sink deeply into a luxurious trance over Louboutin’s iconic packaging and trendsetting colors.

Rouge Louboutin is the first color released in the 30 color line up for FW ’14. This color is the exact shade of iconic red featured on the soles of Christian Louboutin’s footwear. Red nail polish is said to be the inspiration for the accented soles, so it makes perfect sense why this color is to be coveted.

Every bottle retails for $50.00 and can be purchased through the Louboutin website or in luxury department stores. The 30 colors are broken down into 4 categories: Rouge (just the red), Pops (bright & vibrant), Nudes (luscious pinks and creams), and Niors (dark-based colors, perfect for Fall/Winter).

When my bottle of heaven arrived, it was wrapped in beautiful red tissue and fastened with the Louboutin seal. Tearing through (as gently as possible!) I reached the massive 8 inch, weighted bottle and begun internally shrieking (let’s be real, I was loudly shrieking). Mine at last.

Rouge Louboutin… a timeless, vibrant red suited to any skin tone. A true objet d’art of a dramatic 8-inch height inspired by the tallest heel Christian Louboutin ever created- the Ballerina Ultima. The iconic Rouge is encased in a faceted, weighted glass bottle with an unique ombré effect. The tall slender cap, inspired by calligraphy, turns the application into a luxurious experience, inviting women to take their time. The custom-designed, patented triangular brush picks up the right amount of formula, without air bubbles, to deliver flawless, chip-resistant coverage. A highly pigmented, super glossy formula delivers in just two coats the effect of 20 layers of traditional lacquer. Enclosed in a patent leather like finish presentation box with a red reveal.

Now, when they claim it “delivers in just two coats the effect of 20 layers of traditional lacquer,” I’d like to disagree. It’s nail polish, not our answer to chip-free manicures that shine like gold. The formula is thicker than your average Essie or OPI polish and I found that to be a flaw because it doubled the drying time and the two coats got a tad goopy (like when your polish is old). I suggest taking your time and making sure there isn’t too much product on the brush when you apply the first coat, this cuts down the goopy factor. The upside to the formula is how beautifully pigmented the color is and the shine. Also, the calligraphy-style handle to the brush makes for a unique and artistic experience.

I’m really pleased with the product and feel it’s totally worth the $50.00 based on the high level of color it produces, the actual color selections, and the showstopping bottle. It’s on my perfume tray and is simply stunning.

Any of these polishes would make a gorgeous gift for someone, they can completely stand on their own and (I know it’s just nail polish, but) are seriously jaw dropping. If you’ve purchased any of the Beauté Louboutin nail lacquers, I’d love to know! Post your mani pictures on Instagram and add #ahstyle so I can find you!
