Dressing Up Detroit

For anyone who is from Detroit or just loves this grand historical city, SOLO Detroit is making it easy for you to show your pride and more fashionable side.

A few months ago I was asked to join forces with The Studio For Hair and clothing line SOLO Detroit, to style their Fall/Winter ’13 collection.  I had such an amazing time creating magic with these fabulous people and most of all loved the message behind this photo shoot.

Stand Out Live Original (SOLO) Detroit is an urban men’s and womenswear line started by a handful of guys at Central Michigan University.  Not only does their line fulfill a market of sports/urban apparel that was desperately missing, they also empower the city and align themselves with two amazing non-profits, The Heidelberg Project (fund raising shirts by SOLO on sale now) and The Deed Army.  Whether you’re a t-shirt and jeans person or someone who likes a little glam, their pieces work with any fashion sense and still reflect the Detroit pride we all have for our resilient city.

Alongside SOLO, The Studio For Hair (located in Farmington Hills) showcased their amazing talents through avant-garde hair styling featured on each model.  The Studio For Hair is a Salon Today Top 200 salon, three years running!  The Studio’s talented team of stylists pride themselves on their vast knowledge of hair education and their dedication to exceptional customer service.  As a client of their full service salon, I can attest to the amazing experience they create for their clients and the high level of work they deliver.  Working with this team was such a privilege and their hard work shines through the images of this shoot.

This photo shoot also wouldn’t have been possible without fabulous photographer, Scottie Magro of Seeds Studio Photography and the extremely talented make-up artists, Brieanne Monique of Bella Artistry and Camille Milroy!
